Candle & Bell win Sunderland Culture funding to partner with tiny dragon productions!

This summer we’ve been working on a really great project called Space Camp with North East based theatre company tiny dragon. Tiny dragon is run by Mark Calvert and Matt Runham, and they’ve been commissioned by Sunderland Culture to create a visual experience called Space Camp which will be exhibited on Roker Beach in Sunderland. You can find more information here: https://sunderlandculture.org.uk/events/space-camp-hylton-we-have-a-problem/

Candle & Bell are creating all the visuals for the project and it’s been an amazing experience for us. The tiny dragon team indulged our sci-fi nerdiness and gave us the freedom to experiment and push the boundaries a little. We filmed scenes with the actors at the Pride Media Centre in Gateshead over the course of a day. Next we headed to Roker Beach to film some drone footage of the area. The rest of the time we spent building graphics and VFX.

Space Camp is part of Unlocking The Doors, a programme of live performance across Sunderland.

Unlocking the Doors is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. The project was also supported by Sunderland Culture and Sunderland Software City
