When Ben’s mum passes away he finds out it's not too late for them to take one last trip. A short comedy film about family, death and the ridiculous things that we do for the people we love.

Metroland was shot in Newcastle and South Shields in September 2017. The filmed stared Daniel John Williams as Ben, Rachel Teate as Sam, and Doreen Frankland as Mum.

When Ben’s mum passes away he finds out it's not too late for them to take one last trip. The only problem is, Ben’s older sister Sam isn't in on the plan. After Sam finds out that Ben has broken their Mum’s body out of the hospital in a wheelchair she rushes to hunt them down... Not too hard considering Ben can’t drive... but what Ben has to say by the river makes Sam decide to return to a theme park the pair haven’t visited since they were kids, with their dead mum along for the ride.

Metroland was partly funded through Creative England's iShorts 3 scheme, with the rest of the funds raised through a crowdfunding campaign. The film played at 10 festivals and won Best Actress for Rachel Teate at the Underwire Film Festival.
