In August 2022 we were commissioned by Creative UK and Sky Arts to produce ShortFlix2.

ShortFlix is a TV mini series for Sky Arts consisting of films by new, unheard and under represented filmmakers. The final films will screen on Sky Arts and NOW TV as well as enjoying festival releases.

Production took place in London, Wakefield, Gateshead and Northumberland, between September 2022 and March 2023.

The films were originally commissioned in 2020, however due to the Covid Pandemic all production was suspended. Then in August 2022, we were given the green light to proceed with pre-production, completing and delivering four of the films within five months.

Each film has a different cast and crew, and was filmed in different locations across the country, so managing the different productions was a complex process. Maria Caruana Galizia was series producer, with Thomas MacDonald and Emilia Clarke working as line producers.

“We wanted to approach each film individually, rather than asking the filmmakers to work in a cookie-cutter way with the same cast, crew and locations.” said Maria “We were really passionate about honouring their individual visions for their films, and allowing their individual style to inform the production process. I think that shows in the final films. Each of the films are unique and distinctive in their own way”
