Soon We Will All Be History Here awarded production funding.
We’re pleased to announce that the feature film Soon We Will All Be History Here, written and directed by Saeed Taji Farouky, has been awarded production finance by the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture.
The film was initially developed with support from the Royal Film Commission - Jordan, and later the prestigious Torino Script Lab. We’re currently raising finance for the film, with the intention of going into production in 2023.
Soon We Will All Be History Here is set in Gaza. The story centres around Suleiman, a man grieving the death of his sister, who finds an injured Peregrin Falcon on his farm. He rescues the bird and nurses it back to health. Soon, in the process of mourning, he comes to believe the bird is the reincarnation of his sister. A downhearted and lost teenager, Hisham, becomes obsessed with the bird, and tries to take it away from Suleiman. Noreen, an ornithologist from Jerusalem, mysteriously arrives to study the migratory patterns of the falcons, and she and Suleiman find in each other a rare kinship. It may be the only thing that can help them find what they're looking for.
